Great Neck Sewer District $6M+ in Grants Awarded

Issue: The Great Neck Water Pollution Control District is the oldest sewer treatment facility on Long Island.  The District was undergoing a $60 million upgrade in connection with a consolidation of facilities with the Village of Great Neck.  Empire was hired to assist in obtaining critical government grants to assist in the projects completion.

Empire secured the largest single grant award, totaling $5 million from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in behalf of the Great Neck Water Pollution Control District.

Solution:  Empire worked closely with the client to develop a priority list of key projects and then set out to identify and secure grants critical to the District.

Results:  Empire has already successfully helped to secure over $6.1 million in government grants for this project.

  1. $5 Million (DEC)  the state’s largest DEC waste water grant (Round 10)
  2. $750,000 (NYS EFC)  only award received on Long Island
  3. $400,000 (NYS DOS)  4th largest award in the state
