PSEG Long Island Corporate Public Affairs Program

History:  Public Service Electric & Gas (PSEG) won the contract to serve more than Three million ratepayers on Long Island.  The utility enlisted the services of Empire to meet with all of the Island’s elected officials and important business leaders to acquaint them with PSEG’s successful track record.

EGS was tasked with developing PSEG’s Corporate External Relations Program.

Challenge: PSEG is one of the top five utilities in the United States and was anxious to have a smooth transition into a brand new community with diverse interests.

Solution: Over a period of 18 months, PSEG officials met with more than a 131 officials and numerous captains of industry.  Empire set up town hall meetings and special events to introduce the new utility to public and private sectors as well as the media.

Result: Empire has smoothed the way for PSEG’s transition into the bi-county area, which has been touted as a “spectacular success” by the public and private sectors.
